Team Daryl Shane from the co-host K-W Granite club, has won the West Challenge Round and with it the last remaining spot in the provincial field.

Team Shane lost the first game of the final match to Team Balsdon from Guelph, but scored a big 4 points in the 7th end of the second game to win their spot.

The Willis Way side of the sheet is a little lower than the parking lot side, so our ice team has tried trapping some water in plastic to build that side up a little bit. We're using snow banks to build the edges of our sheet to get that nice retro-look. Unfortunately, mother nature didn't provide enough snow, so we trucked some in.

To kick off the 2008 TSC Tankard Ontario Men's Provincial Championship, we're building an outdoor sheet of ice in Uptown Waterloo.

We plan to have celebrity curling (including Eddie "The Wrench" Werenich!), media, food, and a chance for the public to throw their first curling stone. Should be a great time.
